It is never a bad time to reflect on mental health. Here at Student Union we’ve decided to use all of the hot takes and facial hair in our power to make a positive difference this November. Movember has gained considerable attention in the hockey community over the last few years. It’s an initiative that brings people together for a great cause.

What we are doing is simple. We are growing out our facial hair. Through the Movember foundation we have set up a team where we can collectively raise money that will support men suffering from a myriad of health issues ranging from prostate cancer to mental health.

Additionally, as a team we have a goal to move 60 miles over the month of November. That’s one mile for every guy that we lose to suicide every hour around the world. Personally, I think we can crush that number.

Joining us for the month so far we have; Franklin, Carl, Johnny, PJ, Daniel, Luke, Andy and myself. As we approach Movember we’ll add to the group and by the first of Movember we’ll have our team.

Here’s how you, the reader can help. Our team page is open for you to view whenever you’d like! From there you can track our progress and donate. Even if it’s only a few dollars, every little bit means so much. It could be your dad, your brother, husband, boyfriend, uncle, you name it.

Head on over to Movember’s website and find us. Every little bit helps. PTFG.
