Gambling, ultimately, is finding lines that are a little wonky to you. Sometimes, it’s just a you thing. Sometimes, you are right. When you are right, you tend to pick up on trends and tendencies, and when this happens, sometimes you even form allegiances. For example, Cody and I have been huge fanatics of UAB football over the last two years on the Campus Cover (which has been in a period of hibernation, this is entirely my fault, to our 12 faithful listeners). A Conference USA team feels like an odd team to become a superfan of, but when they are 18-8-1 over the last two years, it makes a little more sense (they have made me A LOT of money in those two years).

The same is the case in basketball, and there are two teams I have picked up on this year that vegas hasn’t totally picked up on. I’m going to gas myself up for a second to establish some credibility. Attached here is my Action Network betting history for the year, where I meticulously track all of my gambling habits. You may notice my stellar record in the NFL this season, but that is not important. At 37-22 this season in College hoops, I have formed a basis and strategy for success. https://www.actionnetwork.com/my-action

Now that I got that out of the way, the teams I’m going to be focusing on are the Washington Huskies and the Pittsburgh Panthers. These teams are 11-8-1 and 13-6-1, respectively. Not only are they covering, but they continue to be undervalued by Vegas.

Just this past weekend, Washington was an underdog on the road against (a much improved) Oregon State team. They won that game. The game before that, Oregon was favored over the Huskies. Washington won that game also. Their losses include single digit losses to Gonzaga and Virginia Tech. In the PAC 12, which has an extreme dearth of good teams this year, Washington shines as both a good team and a team that Vegas is not entirely giving its credit yet.

For Pitt, they are probably not a tournament team and they have had a pretty poor start to ACC play outside of wins over Louisville and Florida State, but they are one of my favorite teams to put money on this year. They are on a rough stretch right now, losing three in a row against the spread, but tonight is a great opportunity for them to get back on the horse. They are 9.5 point underdogs on the road in Clemson, which is simply too many points. They will not win that game, they might not even have a chance to win it, but Clemson is not dominant and Pitt is a feisty team that is in almost every game. They will cover that and improve their 13-6-1 record to an even more impressive against the spread look.

There are more teams like that throughout college hoops, like Drake (16-3) and a surging Hofstra team (15-4), which received top 25 votes this week, but these are the two teams that I have been closely looking at this year and feel Vegas has not totally gotten on board with yet. May good fortune fall upon you.
