Purdue is going to win the Big Ten regular Season title this year… on a technicality. I am going to be rash for a minute.

Purdue is making the Big Ten look much weaker than it truly is. The Big Ten is better than the SEC, Big 12, Pac 12, and Big East combined. We are much deeper than any conference. Indiana swept Michigan State and Penn State beat Michigan.

Michigan’s Problems

In my opinion, Michigan is the most talented and overall best Team in the Big Ten. loaded with experienced guards, stretchable bigs, and young snipers from three. Their only issue are road games.

With their win this last Sunday at #17 Maryland this is their only quality road victory this season. They have one last opportunity on the last day of the regular season at MSU. If not for Purdue’s scheduling advantage they should’ve won the Big Ten this year. Michigan is my favorite to go the farthest in the tournament out of all the Big Ten teams.

Sparty or Just Cassius?

As a Spartan fan, I can’t even begin to rant about injuries that started in the fall with our football team and now have made their way all the way to March, with the basketball team. Yes, injuries have plagued this team to 3rd best in the Big Ten at best but this doesn’t mean they can’t make a tourney run (in the NCAA tournament). Sparty at best this team can win the Big Ten tournament. The team is being put together by Cassius Winston’s creativity, glue, band-aids, and a few prayers.

Being swept by Indiana doesn’t change much, it reinforces that this team can beat anyone and lose to anyone! If Cassius can go for 26, 10, and 6 as he did against Michigan we can beat anyone and if Izoo can’t make a sub with 12 minutes to go in a game due to injuries and inexperience, then we can lose to IU twice in a year and lose to Illinois. Making it to the second-weekend of the Big Dance would be a dream scienario!

Purdue’s Luck or the Big Ten’s fault?

Don’t get me wrong Purdue is a good team, with grit, and great coaching! Their schedule that was front-loaded in no fault of their own but they are starting to irritate me. Their fan base is very cocky for being lucky, at best, to be in the Big Ten race. If Carson Edwards wins POTY in the Big Ten over Cassius, I will be routing against them the rest of March! Purdue will either make me eat my words and make the Elite Eight, or get bounced by a really good team from the Horizon League or Missouri Valley conference, per usual.

Why Big Ten Basketball must Change to a Big 12 Football type schedule!

Easy point to be made, Everyone plays everyone. If this means we have to kick out Rutgers or play more regular-season conference games, I don’t care! Keep the Big Ten honest because we are year-in-and-year-out the best conference in America! I will never believe anything else (probably, dont quote me on this just yet).
