Miami University relieved longtime head coach Enrico Blasi of his duties on Tuesday morning. He had served as head coach since 1999, when he was hired at the age of 27. Miami provided Blasi’s only head coaching job to date.

“The Brotherhood’ fell on hard times after joining the NCHC. The frustration of the last few seasons culminated into an absolute disaster this year. As the losses mounted, the likelihood of a change skyrocketed.

With so much of Miami’s program identity being a product of the culture that Blasi built over the last twenty years, it’s tough envisioning such a big change. Whoever comes in and replaces him will have the unenviable task of returning the program to prominence and replacing a Miami legend.
