There is nothing better than being a fan of a team with a long, hate-fueled sports rivalry. If it’s the Red Sox vs the Yankees, Ohio State vs Michigan, or Alabama vs Auburn, It is must-see TV every time.

With that being said, I no longer want to hear that the Iron Bowl is the best rivalry in College Football.

If you are an Auburn fan, you remember Tommy Tuberville. If you are an Alabama fan, you remember the Tuberville Auburn era because Alabama was mostly terrible during that stretch. Alabama lost six straight Iron Bowls during his career at Auburn.

I don’t care if Jesus is coaching my rivals team, If I lose six straight to him, I hate him more than most people. Well, apparently the fine people of Alabama are not with me.

Tuberville defeated Jeff Sessions in the Alabama State GOP Primary runoff on Tuesday. While Tuberville hasn’t really been elected to anything, he will now face off against Alabama Democratic Sen. Doug Jones this November.

I was so curious about what the results were in Tuscaloosa after this news and let me tell you how shocked I was.

Tuscaloosa had the vote at Tuberville- 8,917, Sessions- 8,060.

Stunning to say the least. I guess the “Roll Tide” people are fed up with Nick Saban? Is this a silent protest? Is this a chance to jump on the Bo Nix bandwagon? It’s hard to convince me that Auburn isn’t taking over the state.

In the giant locker room that Alabama is, its safe to say that Saban and the Crimson Tide have lost the locker room. The last Saturday In November no longer means as much anymore in the mediocre state of Alabama.
