Record: 30-51
T.J. Hockenson Longest Reception Over 20.5 Yards -105
The way that Hockenson has been playing could lead to the argument that he’s the best tight end in the league. He also has eight games where his longest reception was over 20.5 yards. Six of those eight have been in the last six games. Chicago has allowed five tight ends to have their longest reception over 20.5 yards. With how much of a safety blanket Hockenson has been for Dobbs and Hall, it’s expected that he’ll be targeted early and often.
Cole Kmet Over 36.5 Receiving Yards -120
Tonight will be a big night for tight ends. Cole Kmet, hailing from the real Tight End U, has seven games over 36.5 receiving yards. The Vikings started the season strong defending tight ends, but in the last seven games, they’ve allowed four tight ends to go for over 36.5 receiving yards. Their defense is playing better, but they have slacked off a bit against tight ends. As a fan of the Vikings, I don’t love that. But as a fan of Cole Kmet going for over 36.5 yards tonight, I love it.
D.J. Wonnum Over 0.25 Sacks +100
While the say bet would be to take Danielle Hunter over 0.75 sacks, that wouldn’t win us money. We’re going with the next best bet. We are taking D.J. Wonnum over 0.25 sacks. He has 6 sacks on the season, but has been hot lately as he’s tallied 4 sacks over the last four games. Wonnum also picked up his second sack of the season in the Vikings first matchup of the year with the Bears. He’ll be lining up vs Braxton Jones, who has a PFF grade of 64.8% and Darnell Wright, who has allowed 6 sacks and has a PFF grade of 60.8%.
Justin Fields Under 54.5 Rushing Yards -110
Justin Fields has been a staple for defining dual-threat quarterbacks, but in the seven games he’s played in this season, he’s been under 54.5 rushing yards four times. One of those times was against the Vikings when he rushed for 46 yards. When it comes to shutting down the quarterback run, the Vikings haven’t let any quarterback get close to getting over 54.5 rushing yards. Minnesota has allowed the seventh least amount of rushing yards this season. Justin Fields might have an okay game, but he won’t crack 54.5.
Ty Chandler Over 32.5 Rushing Yards -115
Ty Chandler has emerged as a fan-favorite workhorse back for the Vikings the past few weeks. With Alexander Mattison struggling and Cam Akers getting injured, Chandler has been “the guy” against New Orleans and Denver. Against the Saints, he rushed for 45 yards and vs Denver, he rushed for 73 yards. His carries have been up the astronomically since the first few games and I feel like tonight will lead to a big night for the North Carolina alum.
