Yes, you’re reading this correctly. For the first time ever, the NFL is playing a game on Friday night in Brazil, and it’s shaping up to be a great Week 1 matchup. The Green Bay Packers will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. I love that we’re getting more NFL football on a Friday night, and I’m beyond excited to kick back and watch this game unfold. With that said, here are my best bets for this special Friday night NFL spectacular:
Betting Trends:
- Green Bay is 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games vs. Philadelphia.
- The over is 6-1 in Green Bay’s last 7 road games.
- The Eagles are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games.
- The under is 11-4 in the last 15 matchups against Green Bay.
Jordan Love Over 256.5 Passing Yards -113
Jordan Love put up over 4,000 passing yards last season in his first full year as the starter. Love hit this mark in half of his starts a year ago. Last season, the Eagles’ defense allowed 267.7 passing yards per game, and I don’t believe their secondary has improved. I expect them to struggle again this season. Jordan Love is poised for another great statistical season, and I think he’ll start by easily hitting the over on this passing yards line.
Green Bay Packers +118
I think Green Bay is sneaky good this season. They added veteran running back Josh Jacobs to help bring more balance to the offense. As for the Eagles, they traditionally start the season strong, but this year, I think they’ve drawn a tough matchup in Week 1, especially with the long flight to Brazil. Green Bay has the better coach and arguably the better quarterback. I also trust Green Bay’s defense more than Philly’s. Ride the over on Jordan Love’s passing yards and take Green Bay on the money line for one unit each, and I’ll see you at the cash counter.
