After an almost perfect week in Week 3, we came back down to earth a little bit while still flexing the fantasy football knowledge. Because I have the guys that I like coming into a season, a lot of my teams end up with the same pieces. So weeks are often really good or really bad.
QC Fantasy Football
Team: Future Champion Record: 2-2
After a tough start in the work league, that I can’t stress enough was auto-drafted, we have ripped off a 2nd win in a row.
The 35 point drubbing comes at the hands of Allen Robinson and Matthew Fitzpatrick who both dropped 23 points. Luckily, I’m deep at running back and shouldn’t be too affected by losing Austin SEX-ler for 4-6 weeks. However, only time will tell.
Just Some Boys From MoHo
Team: Future Champion Record: 3-1
It’s tough to beat teams that score a lot of points. It doesn’t matter how good your team is. After a hot start, karma caught up to us and gave us a fat 23 point L.
Chris Carson, Mike Davis, and Allen Robinson all had 20 point games and Dak Prescott added in 41 to put my team in a coffin. That combined with no James Connor and 0 points from Calvin Ridley makes me feel that my team is as strong as it ahs played. 3-1 feels good, it is still good enough for 3rd in the standings. Raheem Mostert could be back for week 5, which would be a huge addition.
Student Union Podcasters League
Team: Future Champion Record: 1-3
As I mentioned above, it’s hard to beat teams that put up insane numbers. A statistical outlier, I lost by 52, 171.6-119.6. It wasn’t even that I had a bad week because I would’ve beaten 4 of the other 9 teams in the league, but I didn’t play them this week.
I now have the most points against and sit at 1-3 in the Podcasters league. Nick Chubb head to IR and my season is in jeopardy.
12 Tight Pussy’s
Team: hopihopwood’s team Record: 3-1
I can’t stress enough how historically bad I’ve been in this league. Now all of the sudden, we are hot and might be the best team in the whole league. Usually, 200 points ensures a win in this league with the weird ass Yahoo scoring, and so I really built a comfy margin by dropping 262.
Huge games from Mike Evans, Dalvin Cook, and Joe Mixon gave my team 149 of the 262 points. Mixon’s 181 total yards and 3 total touchdowns allowed for him to score 63 points. Yahoo sucks and I’ll take that to my grave, but wowza you HAVE love when it goes in your favor.
Tin Knockers
Team: hopihopwood’s team Record: 1-3
Finally, a win in my Dad’s work league. How I haven’t been able to beat these guys is ridiculous. Last week, it took Patrick Mahomes scoring 52 points to beat me. Luckily, I put up a nice 138 spot to flex the muscle that is my team.
This starts the comeback. Only 2 players, Travis Kelce and the Chargers defense, scored less than 12 points this week. These old guys better watch out, if I get hot, you won’t be able to stop me.
Badger Fantasy League
Team: Judge Jeudy Record:
I might be starting to figure it out. Another league that I don’t think I’ve finished above 5th in the 4 seasons, this being the 5th, that I’ve been in it. However, we have now won 2 in a row after a 20 point win, 84-63.5.
This game was essentially won on Thursday night. 18 points from Brandon McManus and the namesake Jerry Jeudy’s 13 points set the table. Mostly because he played Cam Newton and Chris Godwin who didn’t play in their games and Calvin Ridley was blanked by the Packers defense. That’s 2 straight, do NOT let us get hot.
Samurai League
Team: Wallermelon Eaters Record:
This was a fun game. Going into Monday Night Football that boasted 2 games after Cam Newton contracted COVID-19, I was down 7.9 with Rodgers, Kelce and the Packer defense left and he had Matt Ryan, Julian Edelman, and the Falcons defense.
I was nervous, but Aaron Rodgers tossing 4 TDs sealed the victory and made it seem as if the game was never in doubt. We move to 3-1 and have now won 3 in a row. The rest of the league has been put on notice.
Random Dynasty League
Team: Team BigHoppa32 Record: 3-1
This was a sweat fest. With me having Calvin Ridley and him having Julio Jones, it could’ve gotten weird in a hurry. Calvin Ridley didn’t catch a ball and Julio Jones caught all 4 of his targets, but seemed to be injured towards the end of the 1st half.
With Julio coming out, that solidified a narrow victory 95.1-93.5. Despite this being a dynasty league and trying to play for the future, there’s a chance at a year 1 championship. However, we don’t want to count our chickens before they hatch.
Season Performance
Week 4 Record: 6-2 2020 Fantasy Football Record: 18-14
After some serious outlier scores that led to losses, following up 7-1 in 8 leagues with 6-2 is pretty impressive. I might just be the fantasy football guru I thought I am.
