Croatia Never Quits

In a game that felt like it was going to end 3-1 in favor of Spain, fans around the world were instead gifted with a high-scoring and all-time classic soccer match. Croatia was looking at sure defeat with just minutes left to play and down two goals, but Mislav Oršić became a huge spark off of the bench and was a key part in both late goals for Croatia that forced extra-time.

Mislav Oršić, who did not start and was only subbed into the match at the 67th minute mark, started the comeback in the 85th minute with a hectic and extremely close shot that barely crossed the goal-line before it was cleared away by Spain. Goal-line technology showed that the ball clearly crossed the line first and Croatia pulled within a goal, giving the entire nation a reason to believe. It was once again Oršić who created the goal-scoring opportunity in the 92nd minute, as he sent a beautiful cross into the box for Pašalić to finish. Mario Pašalić got between two Spanish center backs to flick a header into the net and the game sat at 3-3 at the end of regulation in one of the best rallies in Euro Cup history.
