Lock Of The Week: BYU +3.5 vs Oregon

Oregon has proved to be frauds after getting trounced by Georgia and BYU proved to be for real when they beat Baylor. BYU has a stellar defense that’s allowing 291.0 yards per game and I simply cannot will myself to bet on Bo Nix. He’s leading the fraud brigade in Eugene. I think that the Cougars walk into Autzen and not only cover the spread of 3.5, but they win this game. This is the first game of the season where BYU is the underdog, but they’ve covered the past two against USF (-11.5) and Baylor (-2.5). Lock it in, Cougars +3.5.

UTSA +12.5 vs Texas

For Texas, this is a hangover game. They just took Alabama to the brink last week so they’ll have to come down from cloud nine to play UTSA. With no Quinn Ewers, the offense could struggle which will keep this game close for the Roadrunners. Offensively, UTSA has been dynamite this season. They’re averaging 476.5 yards a game thus far against Army and No. 24 Houston. While I believe Texas pulls this game out, it’ll be closer than Steve Sarkisian wants it to be.

Georgia -25 vs South Carolina

The big spread concerns me a bit, but Georgia has been so dominant that I don’t think it’ll matter. Through two games, Georgia is top ten in both offensive and defensive yards per game. Offensively, they’re averaging 525.0 yards per game and on defense they’re number eight allowing only 220.5 yards per game. I think that the Bulldogs defense swarms Rattler and overwhelms him the same way they overwhelmed Bo Nix.

Notre Dame -11 vs California

Marcus Freeman is searching for his first win and it needs to come this weekend. I think that the Irish start off slow with Drew Pyne at QB, but settle into a consistent rhythm against an abysmal Cal team. With it being a home game and Notre Dame rocking alternate uniforms, the stars are aligning for the first win of the 2022 season. Cal’s defense is allowing 348 yards per game and they were unable to cover last week against UNLV. I’m predicting that the Irish win and closely cover.

Oklahoma -11 vs Nebraska

Nebraska football is in a state of disarray after canning Scott Frost and starting off 1-2. On the opposing sideline in Week Three, they have Oklahoma who’s in a different situation. They’re 2-0 with a stud QB in Dillon Gabriel. While it is a road game, that should be no issue for the Sooners because North Dakota and Georgia Southern have both proved that it’s not a tough task to play in Lincoln. I love this 11 point line today.
