Ezekiel Elliott has penned a new six-year contract with the Cowboys, worth a reported $90 million. The new deal makes him the highest-paid running back in the history of the NFL.

The new six-year deal – of which $50m is highly guaranteed – beats the $60m deal Todd Gurley agreed to with the LA Rams last season.

The new contract agreement brings to an end a contract negotiation that has lasted 40 days between the Dallas franchise and the player, just a few days before their season-opening clash with the Giants.

Ezekiel Elliott has failed to join up with the team at the training camp and has been involved in personal training in Cabo while contract talks were ongoing.

With the new deal signed sealed and delivered, Elliott, 24, is expected to link up with his Dallas Cowboys teammates for practice instantly.

According to bookmakers offering NFL betting online, Dallas was favored to beat the Giants week 1 and the game had went UNDER in five of the last six encounters between them. The trend ended up reversing as the game went over the total of 44 points and the Cowboys rolled to a 35-17 victory. The Cowboys were boosted by the return of Elliot as he was able to score a touchdown. Fans were excited by the chance to enjoy another key showdown between Elliot and Saquon Barkley, two of the league’s hottest prospects.

In the same vein, Dallas Cowboys La’el Collins has agreed on a five-year contract extension with his NFL side, reportedly worth $50m.

As per multiple media sources, the contract includes a $35 million deal guaranteed, which is the highest fee in the league at the moment for the right tackle.

In the month of August, the Cowboys also offered a five-year contract worth $64m to linebacker Jaylon Smith to solidify their backline.

Despite the duo of Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott both looking for a new deal of their own and with Ezekiel Elliott signing a new deal recently, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to lock down another youngster by extending the contract of Collins and strengthening their offensive department.

The 26-year-old, penned as a free agent, undrafted, out of LSU after NFL sides passed on the players in the draft days after the lineman was invited for questioning in the murder of an ex-girlfriend – despite not named among the suspects.

By the time investigation ended and it was clear he was not connected with the murder, he had already signed a 3-year deal worth $1.5million to join the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones – club owners, promised to review that initial contract and fulfilled on his promises by offering him in 2017 a two-year, worth $15.4m.

Collins started his NFL career at guard but has since strengthened the right-hand side of the backline as a bookend to Tyron Smith on the other side.

Away from the camp of the Cowboys, Jared Goff has reportedly agreed to a 4-year contract extension with the Los Angeles rams, worth a whopping $134m. The deal is expected to last till the summer of 2024 and it has a $110m guaranteed.

Goff, 24, is starting his fourth season with the LA-based side, who made the players the No 1 pick overall in the 2016 draft season. After a rather poor start as a youngster during his club’s relocation campaign, he has since become a Pro Bowl selection on two occasions under McVay over the last two seasons.

The Los Angeles Rams have started the season 2-0 with wins over the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints.
