The Florida defense hauled in two big prizes on National Signing Day of 2019. The latest additions to the roster are Khris Bogle and Kaiir Elam. Bogle, a four-star weakside defensive end was ranked 66th in the country by Rivals and 2nd at his position. Elam will add to Florida’s defensive prowess as another four-star recruit who is ranked 63rd in the country and is the 9th ranked cornerback.
At Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale, Bogle showed his skill as a talented pass rusher. Previously, he had committed to Alabama in January and flipped to the Gators, despite being projected to become a Miami Hurricane.
For Elam, it seemed to come down to Florida and Georgia as the top two choices. Mullen and his staff eventually won this war. Kaiir will look to continue Florida’s recent success at putting out some of the top DBs in the NFL Draft. Both of these recruits should go a long way in sustaining Florida’s defensive strengths. Helping them to compete with Georgia for SEC East titles in the years to come.
