DE Robert Quinn to the Eagles: B-

Quinn is a very streaky player, but when he’s on, HE’S ON. This year he only has one sack but has produced five, ten-plus sack seasons in the past. Philly got Quinn for a fourth-round pick, which is low-risk, high-reward. The Eagles are tied for fifth in sacks in the NFL and will only get better.

RB Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers: A

Putting McCaffrey with Deebo Samuel and Kyle Shanahan feels illegal. This past week against the Rams, he carried the ball 18 times and had eight receptions. He also found paydirt twice. It may have seemed like a lot giving up four draft picks, but it’s already paying off having McCaffrey in the 49ers offensive system.

WR Kadarius Toney to the Chiefs: C+

While the Chiefs already have a solid group of weaponry, you can always get better. Toney has only played in two games this season, but he has a lot of potential that Patrick Mahomes and Eric Bieniemy can unlock. With a solid frame and 4.3, 40-yard dash speed, Mahomes could have himself a nice number two or three once he’s fully healthy.

TE TJ Hockenson to the Vikings: A-

The Vikings have looked strong this season at every position, except for the tight end spot. Irv Smith Jr. has been banged up and you don’t really want to have Johnny Mundt as your starter. Minnesota gave up a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick, but also received 2023 and 2024 fourth-round selections. Hockenson is an upgrade as a blocker to pave the way for Dalvin Cook and is a true threat in the passing game, having already caught three touchdowns to go with 395 yards.

WR Calvin Ridley to the Jaguars: C

This trade doesn’t really do anything for me as of yet because he’s currently suspended. Jacksonville dealt a potential 2023 fifth-rounder and 2024 second-rounder for Ridley, which feels like a lot seeing that you don’t have him this season. Not much to say since we won’t see him play in Duval until 2023.

OLB Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins: B

Bradley Chubb is an athletic specimen that can rush the passer and drop into coverage. Miami has gone all in to win within the next two years, and this trade only solidifies that belief. He has 26 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles this season. Miami is a bottom-ten team in the NFL in sacks and adding Chubb is huge to step up their production.

WR Chase Claypool to the Bears: D

Chicago is FEEBLE. Oh so feeble. They just gave up a second-round pick for a mid-tier, at best, receiver. This season, Claypool only has two games over fifty yards receiving and has one total touchdown. I understand that there is an upside and potential because of Claypool’s age, but giving up a second-round pick is way too much.

LB Roquan Smith to the Ravens: A+

This was the best trade made around the deadline. Roquan Smith is a top-three inside linebacker in the league and was traded for a second and fifth-round pick. WHAT? Through eight games this season, he has 83 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions. Just an absolute fleece job by the Ravens that has me baffled. I’m just happy he’s out of the NFC North.

RB Nyheim Hines to the Bills: C+

Hines offers a lot of versatility that will work nicely with Buffalo, who has Devin Singletary as their lead back. He can play in the slot, in the backfield, and work as a returner–a true Swiss army knife. While losing a young back in Zack Moss hurts, you gain a guy who can break a big play at any moment.
