JOK is the do-it-all linebacker that made Notre Dame’s defense so good this past season. He is by far the most versatile player in this draft class and one of the most pro-ready. He’s a name that needs to be watched night one of the draft in April. Whoever gets him is getting a game-changer.

Stats

2019: 80 Tackles, 13.5 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, 4 pass breakups, 2 FF, 2 FR

2020: 62 Tackles, 11 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, 3 pass breakups, 1 INT, 3 FF, 2 FR, 1 TD

Strengths

It would be easier to say what this guy can’t do. He’s easily the most versatile player in the draft for a couple of reasons. He covers like a nickel CB. He was so good that in the CFP semifinal he guarded Devonta Smith when he lined up in the slot. He’s got great hips and footwork which allows him to play a slot corner position. The guy hits like a truck, too. He’s great off the edge as a blitzer. His play recognition is at a very high level as well. Like Micah Parsons, he’s a freak athlete.

Weaknesses

The only thing that goes against him is his run-stopping ability in the box. He’s physical, yes, but has trouble getting off blocks. There isn’t much after that.

Scheme Fit: 3-4 OLB

He is going to be a great fit anywhere, but as a 3-4 OLB, he can rush and drop in coverage, which gives a defense an unfair advantage.

Player Comparison: Telvin Smith

Smith is a little taller than JOK, but they have extremely similar play styles. They are both great cover players at the LB position and great sideline to sideline speed.

Draft Prediction: Cleveland Browns (1/26)

The Browns need LB and depending on what’s available, JOK is the best guy on the board. It helps that he’s pro ready and can help this Browns defense become more consistent next year.
