The Ole Miss Football program has joined in on the spark of activism that had hit the sports world Wednesday. The spark ignited when the Milwaukee Bucks chose to not show up on the court for their NBA playoff game.

The Rebels had their routinely scheduled morning practice on Friday, but players decided to gather up and protest instead. The players marched throughout The Square in Oxford to show the support they have for the global movement. Head Coach Lane Kiffin was marching along with the players Friday morning showing his support as well as the programs.

Following the players march throughout the town of Oxford, players stood in front of a confederate monument located at The Square and were vocal of it being taken down.

Ole Miss now timely joins the list of sports organizations/teams that have joined the Milwaukee Bucks trend in wake of the brutal Jacob Blake shooting. Organizations such as the NBA, WNBA, and NFL. This was not the first march for the Ole Miss Football program this summer in Oxford. This past June football players organized a protest at The Square following the death of George Floyd.
