At this time of the year, there’s not a lot of sports betting action to go around. But if you’re like me and gearing up for the college football season, I’m sure you’ve already taken a peek at all of the preseason props. I’ve assembled a conference by conference list of these props to give you my favorite picks for the 2018 season. Bookmark these articles and come back in December to tell you how much money I either made for you or, more likely, lost for you.

Favorite Over Bet: Iowa +7.5

Been saying it all offseason. I’m a Stanley Stan. I believe in the QB and I believe in this team. The schedule lines up well enough to Iowa to win 10 games and get a possible shot at the Big Ten West title.

Favorite Under Bet: Illinois -4.5

This just seems cruel, but I don’t see more than a win or two on that schedule. Bonus pick for this will be Purdue under 6.

Conference Value: Michigan +400, Wisconsin +330

If you think that these two teams can make it out of conference play unscathed or that the Ohio State situation will impact them this year, both of these two teams could win the conference with a good return on investment.

Conference Longshot: Iowa +2300

I said it earlier. The schedule lines up well for the Hawkeyes and with a win in Kinnick against the Badgers, they could easily see themselves in Indy. After that, anything can happen in just one game.

Playoff Longshot: Iowa +6000

Why the hell not.

Heisman Value: Shea Patterson +2000

There are a lot of things you have to trust to make this bet. You have to first trust that Shea is actually as good as advertised. After that, you have to trust Harbaugh’s ability to develop a QB and the playcalling. Lastly, you have to trust Michigan to actually win something. That seems like a lot of things, but I don’t see any other good values in the Big Ten.

Note: Online sites would not give me odds on Stanley, despite asking for them.

National Champion Bet: Wisconsin +1500

If you want some value, Wisconsin is a fun team to put something down on. They have the rushing game and the talent to get there. It is just a question of how the schedule will treat them and if Hornibrook will screw anything up.
