A title that really surprises nobody. Just when I thought the most corrupt organization in America could not surprise me anymore, the James Wiseman news came out.

Okay, so I guess this is fair? But that is not the issue here. The issue comes in the next part of Shams’ tweet.

Wait, what?! Just to recap, Wiseman was suspended by the NCAA because he and his family took an $11,500 loan to move to Memphis. The loan came from Tigers head coach Penny Hardaway, who is considered a Memphis booster. This led to the original suspension. Now, the NCAA is forcing Wiseman to donate that same amount of money back to a charity of his choice. If I was him, I’d address the check to, “The NCAA can go screw itself.”

First of all, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this. Forcing a college kid to donate to a charity?! Second, he’s just that. A COLLEGE KID. I know for a fact I can’t just pull out $11,500 from my bank account and give it to a charity. We’re all broke college kids. Finally, this is a kid who’s family needed money to make the move to Memphis. The NCAA is once again piling it on a kid and a family who does not deserve it.

If it smells like a trap and looks like a trap, it probably is a trap. I guarantee if Wiseman produces this money, the NCAA will try to bust him once again. The hypocrisy of the NCAA really never ceases to amaze me. It’s honestly getting out of hand at this point.
