College football is one of the most popular games in America. It has always been considered one of the country’s most popular games. It regularly showcases the early promise of many players who go on to become NFL superstars and legends.

As football attracts huge audience numbers and generates huge revenues, it is only natural that it has such prominent and flourishing gambling markets too. If you’re looking to bet on college football online, you can find markets and options on sites such as WSN.com tailored to your needs. Today we will look at some of the top placekickers this year and try to narrow it down to the top 10. We will name our top placekickers in reverse order, and you can decide whether you think we have it right.

10. Cam Little – Arkansas

Having topped the stats charts for his scoring achievements during the Razorbacks season, Little could arguably have found himself higher on this list. With a 51-yarder and a season-long to his name, it was a real breakout season for Little, who will be eager to continue this hot run of form.

9. Owen Daffer – East Carolina

Daffer is one of the top placekickers in the league, and after a strong showing this season, he was always going to make this list. Again, much like Little, he could be higher up. However, his place in the top 10 is richly deserved, following a 54-yarder and finishing second in field goals.

8. Casey Legg – West Virginia

Legg is one of the top players for a team that isn’t exactly setting the world alight, but his statistics are excellent. The Lou Groza award semi-finalist successfully made all 35 of his extra points attempts during the season, and he stands out not only in size but in ability too.

7. B.T. Potter – Clemson

It’s easy to see why Potter was a three-star prospect. His statistics this year show just how critical he is to Clemson’s team, not to mention how consistently he operated inside the 30-yard line. Potter’s highlights this year include four field goals against Boston and a spectacular 51-yarder in the matchup versus Iowa State.

6. Zack Long – Tulsa

Long’s season-long 50-yard against Cincinnati was a real high point. Nailing all but one of his 23 field goal attempts last year demonstrated just how consistent he was throughout the season. He was hard done by when only receiving Honorable Mention consideration. His quality of play ensures his place on this list and shows why we have ranked him above some very esteemed company.

5. Jack Podlesny – Georgia

Georgia’s inspired ending to last season was greatly helped by the form Podlesny showed as the season came to a conclusion. With 71 of his 72 extra-point attempts inside the 30-yard line being executed successfully, he is also afforded the luxury of a stacked Georgia offence. This will clearly result in plenty more extra point attempts next season.

4. Harrison Mevis – Missouri

Mevis was a former three-star prospect like several other placekickers on our list. A 56-yarder against Boston, combined with his field goals record over the past couple of years, make it a no-brainer to include him so high up on this list. Some fans and analysts have him in the top three, and you could make that argument.

3. Jonah Dalmas – Boise State

What a season Dalmas had last year. Leading the Football Bowl Subdivision in the number of field goals and obtaining several accolades, his performance inside the 50-yard line was mesmerizing at times. He is a truly gifted placekicker who appears to have quite the career ahead of him.

2. Noah Ruggles – Ohio State

The same applies to Ruggles, who misses out on the top spot. He achieved second-team, All-Big Ten and AP All-America honors following a season where he successfully executed all but one of his 21 field goal attempts. Ruggles is a fantastic placekicker who will likely continue his major form into the next season.

1. Jake Moody – Michigan

There isn’t a better placekicker in college football at the moment who is as good as Jake Moody. Moody scooped up several of the top placekicker accolades in college football last year.

Having made all his field goal attempts and 56 of his extra point attempts, the future is looking very bright. Moody is a precocious talent, who has started to show the incredible ability he has. He will likely find himself plying his trade in the NFL and becoming a huge asset to whatever team he ends up with.
