Travis Kelce during Super Bowl 54 Media Week in Miami, FL

Following a season in which Travis Kelce had over 1,200 yards with 5 touchdowns, a Second team All-Pro selection, and a Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs rewarded Kelce on a 4 year extension worth $57 million earlier this week.

After receiving the brand new contract Travis Kelce chose that his first purchase on it would be a purposeful one. The star tight end announced he will be buying a building for inner-city teenagers in Kansas City to study STEM. The building will be bought for his 87 & Running Foundation which will give teenagers a safe place to study and explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

“I am purchasing the building that will be the future home of the ‘Ignition Lab: Powered by 87 & Running’ – a co-working space where these teens will have the support, resources, and opportunity to explore careers in STEM, launch their own entrepreneurial ventures and gain real-world experience.”

Kelce goes on to say that his inspiration came from his childhood and how mindful he was about how everyone’s life is different. He also adds how privileged he was when he grew up compared to other kids.

“Where you live, the situation you were born into or color of your skin should have no impact on the dreams you can dream”, Kelce said. Ever since he got to the NFL the tight end has been eager to help, this purchase is one way of helping thanks to that new extension.
