This is the moment all football fans have been waiting for. Ever since quarterback Trevor Lawrence was in high school, he was destined to be the number one pick in the NFL Draft. Now, the wait is over.

When you think of the best quarterback prospects coming out of college, Andrew Luck, John Elway, Peyton Manning and now Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence comes to mind.

Junior Season Highlights/Pro Day

Junior Season Stats

Despite missing two games due to COVID, Lawrence still put on a show for the Clemson Tigers. Lawrence finished his Junior season with 3,153 yards, 24 touchdowns and 5 picks through the air while completing 69.2 of his passes. He also ran the ball 60 times for 177 yards and a touchdown. Although those rushing stats don’t jump off the board, his Freshman and Sophomore season he totaled 171 carries for 766 yards and 17 touchdowns. So, the rushing ability is definitely there, it just wasn’t a main focus in the Tigers’ offense this year.

Strengths

If you were to build a quarterback in a lab, you would make Trevor Lawrence. From his frame (6’6″, 220 lbs), his arm strength and accuracy, athleticism and of course, his hair. Lawrence is a big play threat every time he drops back to pass. He reads defenses at an elite level and finds open guys better than any quarterback in this draft. Even if the receiver isn’t open, he’s able to fit the ball in tight windows. Offensive coordinators are able to be creative with Lawrence too, due to his athleticism and IQ. We saw a lot of RPO from him at Clemson, which we will most likely see in the NFL, too.

Weaknesses

Trevor Lawrence really doesn’t have any weaknesses that stick out. If I were to choose one it would be his decision making can be shot at points. He can make every throw, but sometimes tries to fit the ball in too small of windows which can lead to some interceptions. Other than that, Trevor Lawrence may be the best quarterback prospect, ever.
