Washington Football Team Season Outlook:

Washington gave Jay Gruden six seasons to bring the team back to prominence. Unfortunately, four years of mediocrity (31-32-1) sandwiched around two poor seasons (4-12 and 3-13) led to a search for a new head coach. They now turn their full hopes to Ron Rivera to run the franchise. Rivera had a solid run over eight seasons with the Carolina Panthers (76-63-1), which included four playoff appearances (including one Super Bowl appearance). They bring in Jack Del Rio, who lost the chance at the Raiders HC spot two years ago, to be their new defensive coordinator. Washington won’t repeat another 3-13 season, but don’t expect to see them going over five, at MOST six wins for this 2020 NFL campaign.

Win Total (Over/Under):

Washington should see a pretty good improvement in almost everything across the board this season. Their coaching staff seems to of took a big leap in getting better, the offensive is looking to break out, and their defensive is out for revenge. When we’re talking about money and betting on the NFL, Washington is the team that most likely comes to mind the least. If you’re looking to spend money on the WFT, the best bet would be to hammer under 5.5 wins. For someone looking to risk it all, don’t go any further than betting over 6.5 wins.

Fantasy Player to Watch:

When thinking about which player to watch, fantasy football related, for Washington it’s a pretty complicated situation. Dwayne Haskins is about to start his sophomore season in the nation’s capital and shouldn’t be trusted unless he shows great signs. Some people may suggest taking Adrian Peterson but he may be a tad too old to rely on to make a significant impact. A sleeper pick would also be fellow RB Bryce Love, but this is his rookie year so you might want to wait for him to prove himself first.

The biggest name on this offense is wide receiver Terry McLaurin and for good reason, the dude is a stud. McLaurin is the WR1 and most fantasy-relevant from the team. As a rookie last season, the 24-year-old grabbed 58 receptions, 93 targets, 919 yards, and seven touchdowns. Not bad for a guy who was drafted in the third round. The wideout had plenty of opportunities in 2019, and with no serious competition in 2020, he’ll get those opportunities again. Drafting McLaurin in fantasy for this 2020 year is the same as winning the lottery.
