As a great Bowl season is, unfortunately, winding down, Southern Miss and Tulane will face off in the 2019 Armed Forces Bowl today.

How They Got Here: Southern Miss

Southern Miss is bowl eligible thanks to winning five games over a six-game span. This includes wins over North Texas, UTEP, and UAB. I’m going to be completely honest, I have never watched a Southern Miss game and all I know about them is that they had to win x amount of games in a row to become bowl eligible.

How They Got Here: Tulane

Tulane started the season really well, it was the end of the season that dropped them to a record of 6-6.

Tulane was 5-1 after wins over Army, Houston, and FIU in the first six games of the season. After a ass-kicking by Memphis, things spiraled. Tulane won just one game in the final six and that was a win over Tulsa. They went on to lose to Temple, UCF and SMU.

Players To Watch:

Tulane: Justin McMillian

The QB for the Green Wave is not only the leading passer, but he is also the leading rusher for Tulane. The LSU transfer is the only bright spot for the team and will be the key to victory.

Southern Miss: Quez Watkins

Watkins is a huge bright spot for Southern Miss. He leads the team with 1,024 yards and five TDs on 55 catches. Southern Miss is 4-0 when he catches a TD pass. He is literally the key to victory for this team.

Gambling: Tulane -7.5 O/U 57.5

I’d go with Southern Miss +7.5. From what I can see, Tulane has a terrible offense. I personally wouldn’t bet this game because I don’t know enough about these teams but I’m going to go with Southern Miss to cover the 7.5 in the 2019 Armed Forces Bowl.
