It’s June 12th and we are now in that space of the year where there isn’t exactly a lot going on in the sports world. As tweeted out by Jon Rothstein last week, the entire college basketball nation was given the full list of ACC/B1G challenge slated for the first couple of days in December. Here below is the full slate:

This year, we have quite a few high level matchups in the ACC/B1G challenge. Some of these highlights are as follows:

  • Duke @ Michigan State: We see a rematch of last year’s Elite 8 as the Spartans host the Blue Devils. This will probably be the most star power between the two conferences as we see Cassius Winston versus a reloaded Duke squad. In this matchup it will be a very high scoring game, with quite a few GM’s in the stands.
  • Virginia @ Purdue: We see another Elite 8 matchup from last year’s tournament. This game will be a bit more enticing to me as we see some great players from last years game departure. No Carsen Edwards, no Kyle Guy. It’s going to be interesting to see who steps up.
  • Michigan @ Louisville: This is far and away the most intriguing, not best, but most intriguing matchup over this three day stretch of games. Here, Juwan Howard will have a pretty big test to start off his tenure at Michigan.

It will be very interesting to see how this year’s matchups pan out. We see a lot of the top tier teams playing one another. Although the College World Series is going on, there aren’t very many things that get the blood pumping this time of the year, however, with the announcement of these games, the blood is rushing around my body ready for college athletics to be back in my life.
