In the last 20 years, boxing has lost the sexiness that it once had. In the years before the 2000’s, boxing was widely considered the most violent sport and everyone loves to see knockouts and two people throwing punches at one another. Enter the 2000’s and MMA starts taking over the world because of the violence and the greater amount of knockouts during big fights. The UFC isn’t going anywhere anytime soon because of the superstars the organization has, but it looks like its going to get a little more competition with the new wave of fighting. Enter 2018: Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – a new promotion that lets fighters punch each other without gloves for five two-minute rounds. It’s violent, bloody and much more intense than MMA in it’s current state.

This past weekend at BKFC4, bare knuckled fighters met each other in Cancun, Mexico for an event that would pit the USA and Mexico against each other in every fight. The Main Card had multiple knockouts and stoppages because of blood and face injuries. Not only is this league going to continue growing, but they are pulling ex-UFC and Bellator fighters like Chris Leben, Chris Lytle, and Leonard Garcia. Bellator recently started taking old UFC stars and putting them in fights against each other to promote the brand and it has worked. Bellator has grown significantly over the past couple years, but it just doesn’t have that entertainment factor that the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has.

The Parallels

Bare Knuckle fighting is the closest thing we can ever get to gladiator fights in the Rome Colosseum. Two large intimidating men fighting each other without gloves on until one can’t go anymore or until 10 minutes is up is the most entertainment people can get in 2019. The promotion also has women fighters who exchange bare knuckle punches and bloody each other to a pulp until someone is crowned the winner. Although the promotion doesn’t allow kicks or a ground game like that of the MMA, the aspect of not having gloves on makes it all the more entertaining. Think of every street fight you have watched and how your adrenaline is pumping… now imagine watching that on pay per view with two trained professionals.

The UFC has the famous octagon and boxing has the famous ring, well BKFC has the squared circle. A circle ring on top of a square platform. I truly think if you are a fan of MMA or boxing, you will love this. Not only was famous UFC referee Dan Miragliotta reffing, the promotion brought Anthony “Rumble” Johnson on as a promotional aspect and maybe even a fighter. These fighters are fighting to the absolute brink. Violence and fun…what more could a person ask for while sitting on their couch on a Saturday night?

The Exec

President David Feldman is a former professional boxer and he is the brains behind the entire operation. The reason Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is legal is because of Feldman. As the BKFC continues to grow and bring on big names to the sport, Feldman is going to continue to grow the Bare Knuckle brand. David Feldman is the fearless leader of this organization and it looks like he is going to take this sport to the next level. Hoping to start competing with big promotions on pay-per-view like the UFC, boxing and Bellator, with his promotional skills and ability to market this brand, it truly is only a matter of time before this thing absolutely blows up. So don’t miss the next Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 5 on April 6th in Manchester, New Hampshire.
