Are you new to gambling? A veteran? A numbers nerd or always trusting your gut? No matter who you are, you’re looking for a bet to cash tonight. I have that bet for you.

Yesterday, I gave you Will Shipley’s rushing yards total. Boom. Into the win column.

Record: 1-1, -0.12U (These are always responsible, one unit bets)

Background

Baseball is my favorite sport. It can feel hard to get an edge in baseball when betting. Luckily, baseball is one of the most tracked sports when it comes to statistics. Thankfully, baseball fans have made it so that there are resources like Baseball Reference, who tracks everything from individual matchups to how well a guy hits in August for his entire career. Today, we are utilizing those individual matchups.

The Bet: Alec Bohm U0.5 Hits (+143)

I’m sure that looks like a lot. This is just a bet that Bohm does not record a hit tonight. You can find that when you go to most books in the specific game and look for the “prop” or “prop builder”. Keep in mind, this bet will be returned to you if Bohm does not get a plate appearance tonight. To this point in Bohm’s career, he is 1-11 with 5 strikeouts against Yu Darvish combining postseason and regular season at-bats. I know what you’re thinking. “Well Darvish isn’t going to pitch the entire game.” I’m fully aware. Bohm, when you include postseason numbers, is 10-47 (.213 batting average) vs those on the Padres staff he’s faced. It’s important to remember with this bet that we don’t care about OBP or any other stats because we are only caring about the probability of Bohm recording a hit. Lastly, Bohm went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts last night in a game where the Phillies scored 10 runs.
