LSU, Tennessee, Clemson, Tulsa, Missouri, Northern Illinois, Virginia, USF. Those are the head coaching jobs that were filled by names other than Gus Duggerton. After winning a MAC Championship with Toledo as its offensive coordinator two seasons ago and a dramatic Fiesta Bowl championship with Florida State in that same position last year, Coach Duggs will instead be heading west to take over as the new offensive coordinator of USC.

It seemed as if Coach Duggs would be heading to Washington State, who offered him the head coaching job after a tough 1-11 finish last season. Instead, Duggerton turned it down in favor of taking over an 11-3 USC offense that won the Holiday Bowl last season. The Trojans are also a 99 rated offense.

Coach Duggs brings his blind plays, quiet yelling, and “sketchy” recruiting tactics to Los Angeles, where he will look to return to the glory days of the early to mid-2000s. It seems like only a matter of time before Coach Duggs takes over as the head coach for a major program, but today is not that day.
