You know, it may have been a rough start to the season for Syracuse fans, but all of that was forgotten when the Orange went into Cameron Indoor and punched the Dookies in the mouth. Syracuse knocked off the nation’s “top team”, the “superteam”, the Duke Blue Devils, 95-91 in overtime. Tyus Battle dropped 32,and Elijah Hughes had 20 of his own, including one of the craziest shots I’ve ever seen.
Yeah, the ball disappeared for a second before dropping in and shattering the hearts of the Cameron Crazies. Not only did Cuse knock off Duke, they knocked off some rather suspect officiating with a very shady call to allow Zion Williamson to tie the game at the line and send the game to overtime. But it’s ACC refs, what more could you expect in a Duke game?
I’m ready for the Duke fans in my mentions crying because Tre Jones went down with an early injury and Cam Reddish was sick. But the only people sick now are the Duke fans that were only focused on Virginia this coming Saturday. Instead, it was the Orange that decided to show up tonight and in a big way on the national stage. Sorry, Duke, you get nothing from me. Cry me a river for having two guys injured and only having 15 five-stars remaining on the bench. Oh, and that captain dude, Jack White? 0-10 for three. Lol. Sounds like how a guy named Jack White would shoot. I’ll tell you what, it seems like Syracuse has Duke’s number recently. Remember this?
Jim Boeheim reacted how basically any Syracuse fan would, myself included. The man was so hype he pissed his pants. No shame in that.
This was truly an unforgettable night for Syracuse fans. And we probably won’t let it go anytime soon. Duke sucks, goodnight.
