Another win for the underdog king last week as Texas A&M pulled off the upset of Ole Miss. Sometimes I really think I should just stick to this, especially after a weekend like last where I put up an absolute goose egg on The Campus Cover. I went 0-5 in those picks which really makes main, football guy ego PJ feel bad about himself.

Luckily, basketball is starting so I can find infinite joy in that. It also gives me a way to mix up my picks this week and look at them in a bit of a different light. I am a big believer of mojo carrying over in athletic departments, so it makes sense in my brain even if you think it is stupid, and also I like mixing it up. I did it last week, and I am excited to for the next couple until I can unleash El Pollo in his fullest form in his full Bowl Predictions, which will be the season finale of the only picks you ever need.

Eastern Michigan has looked really good so far

Eastern Michigan hoops is off to a 4-0 start in this season including a win in the opening weekend that was good enough to make me download their game tape and re watch the game. They had moments in that specific game where they looked athletically superior to a level it is hard to even describe. This is something that pays dividends in mid-major hoops since a lot of don’t necessarily have that athleticism. #MACtion never sleeps

Don Coleman is very exciting

As I write this, Cal is leading number 6 Wichita State by nine at halftime of their opening game in the Maui Invitational tournament. They were projected to be eleventh or twelfth best in the PAC-12 for basketball. They have no projected pros and their point guard averaged 4.6 points per game last year.

This year, he has gotten that average up to 26 in the first three games. Now, he is matching that average in the FIRST HALF against Wichita State, who just happens to be one of the best defensive teams in the nation. He is also being guarded by Zach Brown, who just happens to be one of the best individual defenders in the nation.

Kid can ball. Bilas even compared him to modern Isaiah Thomas in this game. He is little but explosive, quick but efficient. Keep an eye on Don Coleman.

Can’t do a basketball bit without UNC

In my opinion, North Carolina is the most iconic brand in college hoops. With names like Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Michael Jordan, Vince Carter and Tyler Hansbrough, paired with the most beautiful uniforms in hoops, it is hard to deny. I would be remiss to not include the defending national champions in a basketball bit.
