Prime Position

  1. Alabama- At this point it’s pretty clear that Alabama may be the most talented team that we’ve seen in awhile, if they win out, they’re for sure in. Even with one loss, they still may be in a good spot to make the playoff.
  2. Clemson- Now Clemson hasn’t been quite as impressive as last year, but they still are on track to win the ACC. If they can finish it out, they will make the playoff.
  3. Michigan- It should all come down to the Michigan-Ohio State showdown. If the winner of that game can take the momentum into Indy to win the conference championship, they will make it.
  4. Texas A&M- Have to admit, I was quite surprised to see Texas A&M put into the playoff field in the first week of the committee rankings, but they deserve it so far. Depending on the fashion of their wins and the wins that their previous opponents could pick up, A&M has a really good shot.
  5. Washington- The huskies are an interesting case because of their playoff ranking, but if they can finish off their undefeated season and win the Pac-12, I’d like to think that they could jump over Texas A&M.
  6. Ohio State- See Michigan

Need Some Help

  1. Louisville- In order for Louisville to get in, they would have to destroy the rest of their schedule and hope the teams in front of them lose.
  2. Wisconsin- The Badgers would need Wisconsin to lose in order to get into the Big Ten title game, and then beat the winner of Ohio State and Michigan.
  3. Auburn- Would need to beat Alabama, which is a tough task in itself, but then also would need Texas A&M to lose a game in order to get a chance in the SEC championship.
  4. Nebraska- Would need to beat Ohio State this week and then win the Big Ten Championship.
  5. Florida- The Gators need to win out with a few teams in front of them losing, simple as that.
  6. Oklahoma- Need the rest of the Big 12 leaders to win and boost their records, would need to win the Big 12, and have quite a few teams lose, but still an outside shot.
