Staying persistent in the waiver wire is a huge key in staying successful in Fantasy Football. Injuries and material changes are always apart of the game. But with COVID-19, yet another challenge will be added to the season. Knowing guys who MIGHT break out, gives you a backup plan in case one of your starters goes down with an unforseen issue. Here is a couple of guys that I have compiled that have a real chance to be league winners for you. And at the very least, give you a spot starter in a pinch.

La’Michal Perine NYJ RB

It is no secret that Adam Gase is not the biggest fan of Le’Veon Bell. In fact, the reports coming out of the Jets camp show that he has been involved in first team reps. The Frank Gore signing takes some value from Perine but if Bell is somehow moved or injured, the 3rd round rookie is the guy to have in New York.

Parris Campbell IND WR

There are a lot of unknowns in Indy. With the lack of preseason games, these questions, especially in terms of Fantasy Football, won’t be answered til the season starts. Campbell was the Colts 2nd round pick last season and flashed some potential talent, before he was ruled out for the year. Coming into this season, he’ll have to compete with Michael Pittman Jr. and TY Hilton for receptions, as well as the run heavy Colts offense.

Laviska Shenault Jr. JAX WR

All signs pointed to Dede Westbrook being the guy in Jacksonville last season. Not only would he be the main pass catcher, but he’d be catching passes from Super Bowl Champ Nick Foles. Life moves fast and 2nd year main DJ Chark came out of nowhere and has established himself as the man in JAX. Additionally, Gardner Minshew is going to be the one under center. Who knows how far Westbrook has fallen in the depth chart and Shenault may be ready to take up the slack. After the release of Leonard Fournette, all signs point to Minshew leading something of an air raid offense. This leads me to believe the former second round pick will have some serious value.

Bryan Edwards OAK WR

After it was announced Tyrell Williams would be missing the season due to a Labrum injury, the receiver room in Vegas became a lot more open. First round pick Henry Ruggs III has been commanding a lot of attention in training camp. The former 3rd round pick will be competing for targets with Ruggs and former Clemson standout Hunter Renfrow. But he is certainly a guy to look out for in the coming weeks.

Darrynton Evans TEN RB

One of the best kept secrets in Fantasy Football. Evans will be the main pass catcher at the RB position. Although Evans has had a difficult time getting adjusted in camp, he has serious upside. Peter King called him a “poor mans Alvin Kamara” which is some serious praise. In PPR leagues, he may have some stand alone value. If Derrick Henry goes down with an injury, Evans will command a lion’s share of the carries on offense.
