Week 7

Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Georgia @ LSU

Stoppin’ every hundred miles, callin’ Baton Rougeeeeeeeeee! LSU is one of the truly great tailgate scenes in all of sports. The Bulldogs are favorites in the SEC East and LSU should be up with the big boys in the SEC West. Baton Rouge is sure to be the perfect atmosphere for two teams looking to make moves in their respective divisions. No way GameDay can pass this one up.

Honorable Mentions

Michigan State @ Penn State

These two teams will both be in need of a win to keep pace with Ohio State in the Big Ten East race. Michigan State pulled the upset in East Lansing last fall on a late field goal. Kickoff has just been announced for either 3:30 or 4 depending on whether FOX or ABC gets the broadcast. This is the perfect time slot for the Big Ten’s best trophy rivalry game!

Wisconsin @ Michigan

Wisconsin loves to run the ball. Jim Harbaugh has a fear of being out-muscled. A battle of wills should ensue. Two of the best running backs in the Big Ten in Karan Higdon and Jonathan Taylor, Tailback headline this cross-division clash.

Week 8

East Lansing, Michigan: Michigan @ Michigan State

College Gameday has spent a lot of time in East Lansing over the last few years. If both teams come into this one in position to do some damage in the Big Ten East, Gameday will have the perfect opportunity to pay yet another visit to the school on the banks of the Red Cedar.

“Pride comes before the fall.” Mark Dantonio has endeared himself to Spartan fans by prioritizing and dominating the rivalry with Michigan. State has dominated the rivalry recently and Michigan has closed the gap under Jim Harbaugh. The state of Michigan revolves around this rivalry. Whether it is in East Lansing or Ann Arbor, the site of this game is a special place to be on this Saturday. East Lansing provides the perfect setting for Gameday as these uneasy neighbors meet yet again. Go Green. Shea Patterson will have to watch his back as East Lansing has been a rough place for Michigan quarterbacks over the last ten or so years.

Honorable Mentions

Oklahoma @ TCU

Lincoln Riley will have his plate full in his second season. Gary Patterson has worked magic in Fort Worth. Preseason pollsters have only come to a consensus on these two teams being excellent from the Big XII.

Alabama @ Tennessee

If Tennessee is good then maybe. Knoxville is always a great venue. Jeremy Pruitt was Alabama’s defensive coordinator last season. Saban is undefeated against his former assistants while at Alabama. Good luck, Tennessee.
