Here at Student Union, we normally let the contributors and our social media do the talking. However, last night we found ourselves in the middle of a simultaneous rave/basketball game that was too much fun not to post about.

Last night the Grand Canyon University ‘Lopes beat the New Mexico State Aggies in an early season WAC matchup between two of its best teams.  However, more impressively, this setting was all the GCU students needed to showcase one of the best atmospheres in college basketball.  Yes, you read that correctly…one of THE BEST atmospheres in college hoops.

Our coverage seemed to “strike a chord” with other national publications that seemed to agree with our assessment of the game day experience at GCU.  It.  Is.  Awesome.

So, if a rave/dance party/packed stadium at a basketball game sounds like fun to you (it should) you’ll definitely want to check out a game at Grand Canyon Arena if you’re in the Phoenix area.  Here is what we captured on our Instagram at this hidden, but loud, gem in the middle of the desert.  Make sure to click on the videos…it’s worth it!

At one of the hidden gems in college hoops tonight @gcu_lopes. Seriously this atmosphere is incredible.
