This Saturday, the South Carolina Gamecocks will host the Kentucky Wildcats in what is sure to be a heated SEC East matchup. Both Kentucky and South Carolina are off to great starts so far this year, boasting 2-0 records as they enter the third week of the season. Historically, South Carolina has gotten the best of Kentucky, holding a 17-10-1 all time record against the Wildcats. With that being said, Kentucky has dominated the matchup in recent years and hasn’t lost to the Gamecocks since 2013. This game will showcase some very talented offensive players, including the Gamecocks star wide receiver Deebo Samuel and the Wildcats impressive young running back, Benny Snell Jr.  While Vegas currently has South Carolina listed as 6.5 point favorites, SEC fans will tell you this is really anyone’s game. So instead of avoiding bias in this article, we decided to embrace it; below are predictions for Saturday’s game from both a South Carolina Gamecocks fan and a Kentucky Wildcats fan…Enjoy.

Jared Estep (Kentucky Fan)

Kentucky and South Carolina will face off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET as the Wildcats look to win four-straight over the Gamecocks. Kentucky will win this game mainly because of Benny Snell Jr., their secondary, and their pass rush. “The Blitz Bros”, Denzel Ware and Josh Allen, are going to cause major problems for teams all year long and will do it Saturday night in a big way. Also, blitz baby Josh Paschal will have to be big for the Wildcats, especially if star Jordan Jones is out for the game with an injury. As long as Stephen Johnson isn’t a turnover machine and can complete a pass here and there, I think the Wildcats will be in great shape to take down South Carolina in Columbia Saturday night. Coach Stoops will continue to handle South Carolina with a final score of 31-27. Benny Snell Jr. will have a field day against the Gamecocks defense like he and Boom Williams did last season. I know the Big Blue Nation is hoping to see Muschamp fuming on the sidelines once again, just like I am.

Liam Smith (South Carolina Fan)

I said it earlier this week and I’ll say it again: Kentucky wants absolutely no part of Will Muschamp and the South Carolina Gamecocks this season. The Gamecocks have came out hot this season, to say the least, with big wins over NC State and Missouri in the books, South Carolina is sure to keep the momentum flowing on Saturday night in Williams-Brice Stadium. Jake Bentley is looking to build on solid performances in the first two weeks of the season. He’s only recorded four touchdown passes so far this year, but this just might be the game he goes off and delivers some real video game numbers (Shout-out Seth Berland). He will certainly be aided by his star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who the nation has been buzzing about after standout performances in the first two games of the season. In those games, he recorded two receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and two touchdowns off of kick returns. Tack on sophomore running back Rico Dowdle, who is due for a big game, and I just see the Gamecocks having too much offense for Kentucky to handle. Another thing to keep in mind is that the seniors on this South Carolina team are 0-3 against Kentucky in their collegiate careers, so they will definitely be leaving it all on the field against the the Wildcats on Saturday night. Gamecocks win 24-10 and move on to 3-0.
