Picking a loser was easy this week; it has to be Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech suffered an embarrassing loss to Old Dominion on Saturday.  You would think after having a week off due to Hurricane Florence that Virginia Tech would come out extra prepared and ready to fire on all cylinders but that couldn’t be further from what happened.

To be fair, Virginia Tech did lose their starting Quarterback, Josh Jackson, to injury in the second half, but offense was hardly the problem for the Hokies. The Hokie defense allowed 495 passing yards as the Old Dominion Monarchs scored at will in route to a 49-35 victory at home. The loss was so bad that Virginia Tech dismissed defensive end Trevon Hill from the team on Sunday because he failed to live up to the standards of a Virginia Tech student athlete.

The Hokies will look forward to erasing the memory of this loss by beating Duke this Saturday and improving to 2-0 in the ACC.
