Duke Upset at NC State

On Wednesday night we had a bit of shocker as we saw Duke upset at NC State. The Duke Blue Devils, who are now 23-4 (12-3) lost in Raleigh to an unranked Wolfpack squad by 22. That is correct, TWENTY TWO points. This NC State team has been desperate for quality NET wins like this one tonight.

North Carolina State has not been a great three point shooting team this season (31.7%), yet tonight they shot an astonishing 8-13 which rounds to a sweet 61.5% tonight. The Wolfpack had a few players step up in this game. Markell Johnson dropped a career-high in points (28) on 10-19 shooting with nine rebounds and four assists. DJ Funderburk did a little bit of everything tonight finishing with 21 and nine rebounds. Devon Daniels dropped a career-high of 25 points and nine rebounds as well.

With this result, not only did NC State get a great win in their quest for the NCAA Tournament coming off of a win against Syracuse, but Duke is now tied in second place in the ACC alongside Florida State. This Duke upset at NC State looms large in the ACC standings as Louisville regains first place.
