Chris Holtmann and the No. 16 Ohio State Buckeyes certainly had their work cut out for them on Friday night as they were tasked with traveling to Bloomington and enduring the hostile fan base of the Indiana Hoosiers. While Indiana’s current record of 16-14 doesn’t show the season the Hoosiers had hoped for, it is still worth noting that they are formidable foes when they are on their home turf. Currently boasting a home record of 12-6 and a road record of 3-8, it is clear that this Indiana squad is a completely different team when playing on their home court. I mean after all… Fried food and Basketball, that’s what Indiana does.

Despite Indiana’s home court advantage, the Buckeyes were able to grind out a closely contested win in double OT. The game winning shot came from a devastating C.J. Jackson three-pointer with only 1.6 seconds left on the clock. Jackson’s big time three completely silenced a sold out Indiana crowd of over 17,000 fans and secured the 80-78 double overtime win for the Buckeyes.

It certainly wasn’t the prettiest game to watch: loads of pointless fouls, stupid shots and an ungodly amount of bricked free throws. With that being said, the ending certainly did not disappoint as fans witnessed two competitive, scrappy, entertaining periods of OT, with both teams leaving it all out on the court. At the end of the day you just have to give props to Ohio State, a team that has had to deal with a notable amount of media scrutiny this season, for coming out and getting the job done in one of the most hostile environments in College Basketball. The Buckeyes will certainly be looking to ride the momentum of this big time win right into March!
