What a game! Iowa took down Minnesota in an epic Big Ten battle at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday evening. Highlighted by an epic defensive performance by AJ Epenesa, the Hawkeyes brought the hammer against the unbeaten Gophers. Two-thousand-nineteen’s trademark Kinnick upset.

Iowa rushed to a 20-3 lead in the second quarter fueled by two Nate Stanley touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown by freshman running back Tyler Goodson. In the second half, the Gophers brought the lead down as close to 4 points, but a key interception by defensive back Riley Moss sealed the game for the Hawks in the last minute. As the clock struck zero, the celebration commenced in Iowa City with students and fans rushing the field in an amazing scene.

The Gopher’s Dream Season is OVER

This loss marks a likely end to Minnesota’s chances to make the College Football Playoff. As #8 in the country, this loss seals their fate and any chance for a national title. Too bad so sad, they are probably going to loss in the Big Ten Championship anyway. If it weren’t for Iowa, their hearts would have been broken even worse just in a few weeks.

Minnesota now needs to beat Wisconsin in two weeks so guarantee a trip to the Big Ten Championship. For #20 Iowa, they are out, but get the chance to play spoiler.

Never book a late night trip to Kinnick Stadium in November.
