The Miami Hurricanes were put in the #2 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, and in the same week lost to a 4-7 Pitt team. Thanksgiving meal might have been a little too heavy for the Canes considering they looked like me trying to play backyard football yesterday.

Miami had the ball for only 22:40, and let the Panthers control the pace of the game. Miami had a total of 45 rushing yards on 23 attempts, and that has a lot to do with the TOP. Miami normally does their damage through the air with Wide Receivers Braxton Berrios, Chris Herndon, and Ahmmon Richards.

Pitt deserves a lot of credit for coming into this game knowing this was their last game of the year, and they came out and held the #2 team in the nation to 14 points. They also had the greatest win song of all time in “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. If you go to Pitt and you watched your 4-7 football team beat the #2 team in the country, that would be the first song I would want to hear as well.

A+ job from Pitt’s Aux crew.

Don’t forget what they did to Clemson last year as well. This should not have been a surprise to the “College Football Experts”. Colin Cowherd basically called it earlier this week…

The Notre Dame effect strikes again, and it all but knocks out both teams’ shot at one of the 4 spots in the CFP. The winner of the Iron Bowl will get a spot. Oklahoma, Clemson, because I think they beat Miami next week, and the winner of the Big 10, (Wisconsin/ THE Ohio State). These teams control their own destiny, and thanks to the Turnover Chain, can win a National Championship.

Miami lost to a very mediocre team, and the Committee will not take that lightly.

Now let me make sure everyone knows how I feel about this…

America lost when this happened. Mark Richt deserves to be in the running for Coach of the Year, the Turnover Chain can never be used again, and as for The U…. They are halfway back… But we really need them all the way back. COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BETTER WHEN MIAMI IS GREAT.

We need a GREAT Miami team to face Baker in the Natty for the ultimate personality game. The Turnover Chain vs. The Baker….

What could have been America…. What could have been.
