“THIS DUDE BROKE HIS LEG THOUGH.”

Today we are going to look back at one of the greatest YouTube videos of all time. The infamous Greg Jennings broken leg video. It’s honestly hard not to remember this video. I mean, this is one of the greatest displays of effort the gridiron has ever seen, in real life or on Xbox. You’ve got BeastQuake, you’ve got the Immacualte Reception, you’ve got the Malcolm Butler pick, you’ve got every single Chris Berman rumblin’-bumblin’-stumblin’ call and you still put it behind this clutch, clutch reception.

Earlier in a game of what appears to be Madden 2010, give or take a year with those graphics and rosters, Green Bay Packers wideout Greg Jennings busted his leg. Completely broke that shit up. Now, most people would take a seat on the bench and call it an afternoon. (In the immortal words of Stephen A.) HOWEVA, Greg decided that wasn’t for him. Greg wanted to keep grinding for the Packers. Greg knows it’s team first.

With his team in their own end zone late in the game, Rodgers rolls out to the right and hits Greg on about a 10 yard streak. Beautiful pass, of course. Now, you’re thinking to yourself “oh, my man broke his leg earlier in the game. No way he does much to extend this play past the catch.” Folks, that is where you’re COMPLETELY MISTAKEN. Greg grabs ahold of his broken leg, and drags it towards the end zone.

Now it’s a feel good story. You’re happy for Greg because he’s made it a pretty good distance down the field. Broken a few tackles, sure. But, of course he’s not going to cross the plain because lurking in the defensive secondary is one of the most hardest hitting safeties in the league today…

DARREN SHARPER.

He looks positioned and ready to take down Greg Jennings in his prime, so an injured Greg Jennings should have absolutely no shot here…

You know what Greg does?

He breaks the Sharper tackle.

He crosses the plain.

TOUCHDOWN.

I really miss football. I hope this commentary on a fluke, simulated football play from maybe 2009 provides you with a little light in this grim offseason. I can’t wait for free agency rumors.

And of course, FUCK YOU GUMBY.
