The Houston Texans have lost wide receiver Will Fuller V for the rest of the 2020 regular season after he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. The league decided to hand him a six game suspension for the violation on Monday.

Fuller was well on his way to a career year. Through 11 games he had 53 catches for 879 yards along with eight touchdowns. Which were all career highs and still would’ve had five games left to play.

The wide receiver took to social media to apologize and explain himself this evening.

This will mark the fourth straight season where Fuller has failed to play a full 16-game season. Fuller was setting himself up nicely for a big pay day this offseason but now has potentially cost himself some extra money this upcoming free agency.

If this team makes a successful playoff push down the stretch they would only be able to get him in the Divisional round, but that is much easier said than done. If Houston misses the playoffs that last game suspension will carry over into the 2021 season.

Deshaun Watson will need receivers Brandin Cooks, Keke Coutee, and Isaiah Coulter to step up if they have any kind of postseason aspirations.

If the 4-7 Texans manage to climb out of their hole without their best receiver it would be a miracle. It’s been a disappointing year in Houston after last season’s success to say the least and might be too much to overcome at this point.
