Yannick Ngakoue during an NFL regular season game

Former Jacksonville Jaguars star Yannick Ngakoue finally gets out of Jacksonville, just like he wanted. On Sunday morning the Jaguars traded Yannick Ngakoue to the Vikings in exchange for a 2021 second round pick and a conditional 2022 fifth round pick.

The trade is a surprise to virtually no one, it was only a matter of time and a question of where he would go. Ngakoue & Jaguars co-owner Tony Kahn got into it on Twitter this offseason over his desire to leave the team.

Following the posted tweets Ngakoue was hoping that it would speed up the process and would get him out immediately. Kahn did not budge though, he smartly held on to star pass rusher until he got the right offer.

The Jaguars are undoubtedly in rebuild mode so it makes sense why Ngakoue wanted out, he wants to compete. Surely he got his wish by not only getting out of Jacksonville but also joining a contender.

The Vikings are coming off a season in which they upset the Saints in their only playoff win. The Vikings are looking to build off last season and adding a pro bowl pass rusher is almost always a good idea when a team is trying to progress.
